Independent Residential Children’s Homes

About Us

Welcome to the family…

About us

We’re not just like a family – we’re an actual family. Our father and son team started ABC Care in 2010 – combining Chris junior’s background in business with Chris senior’s long history of working in the Childcare Industry. Together their experiences are the foundation of the services we offer – but their genuine desire to help influences every decision right across the company. And with their guiding hand, we aim to offer the best opportunities we can to children in our care.

We’ve been bigger than we are now, but we’ve never been better. Soon after ABC Care opened its first doors (a 3-bed semi), we quickly and successfully expanded across the North West and Midlands with more homes – but soon realised size isn’t everything and with expansion comes compromise. To offer the levels of care we dreamed of, we both decided to scale back and bring everything closer to home where the focus is now on being the best, not the biggest. And everyone’s happier for it.

Today, we have two wonderful rural homes, supported by a great team who work hard to ensure all our young people are supported and cared for – and this focus is how we aim to make the great difference to the lives of those who need our help.

Our Vision

For every child to look back at their time in our care, and know without any doubt that we believed in them, rooted for them and gave them the tools to thrive.

Our Ethos

We believe in working hard to provide stability, security and positive relationships for children, creating a safe environment that allows them to thrive.

Everything we do is designed to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents, focussing on care, education and therapy.

We’re ambitious and proactive in promoting learning needs, and understand the importance of treating each child as an individual, with their own talents, strengths and abilities, that we can nurture and support over time.

STAFFING

Young people deserve consistency, which is why, in 2015 ABC Care and Education ltd committed to no longer using agency staff.

FORMULATION

Formulations, conducted with key staff members, are designed to inform effective plans for intervention, risk management and care of our children.

PLACEMENTS

We believe there is no ‘quick fix’ for children in residential care. It is, for this reason, ABC Care and Education ltd will not accept known short-term placements.
